Advisor guide: Executing the third-party lead gen outreach sequence

Overview

About This Campaign

This sequence is designed for prospects entering the pipeline from SmartAsset or third-party lead generation programs.

  • Who this prospect is: Purchased third-party leads matched with Farther advisors.
  • Trust level at entry: Low. SmartAsset prospects are often matched with multiple advisors simultaneously, making speed to first contact critical.
  • Enrollment: Automatic. The sequence auto-fires on lead receipt within 5 minutes of contact creation when Lead Source = SmartAsset or WiserAdvisor.
  • Length: 14 days · 5 emails · 3 call tasks.

Before You Enroll

  • Deal Ownership Requirement: You are the deal owner — emails send strictly from whoever enrolls the contact. Do not ask an admin or team member to enroll on your behalf.
  • Advisor Prerequisites: Ensure your HubSpot profile is fully completed with your first name, last name, email address, and scheduling link ( or advisor_scheduling_link for Calendly users).
  • Document Flag: The template reference to a "Hi there" fallback is not documented in the source PDF. Verify that contact personalization tokens (there) are correctly populated before enrollment.

Call Guidance

Opening

Every call attempt uses the same universal opening:

Introduce yourself and ask: "Do you have a few seconds? / Is now a good time?"

  • If they say no: Ask "When would be better?" and schedule a callback. If still unavailable: "Okay, I will try you again later this afternoon / Are you better in the mornings or afternoons to try again."

Connecting Questions by Call

  • Call 1 (Day 0–1): "I saw your match come through from [SmartAsset]. What prompted you to start looking for an advisor right now?"
  • Call 2 (Day 3–4): "Is now a good time? / Do you have two minutes? ... there, I wanted to reach out directly. I'm curious what made you start thinking about getting a financial advisor right now?"
  • Call 3 (Day 7): "Is now a good time? / Do you have a few minutes? ... I'm glad you have a moment. I'm curious what made you start thinking about getting a financial advisor right now?"

Voicemail

  • Call 1: First call = NO VOICEMAIL.
  • Call 2 & Call 3: Leave a voicemail on second and third attempts.

"Hi there, it's [advisor] from Farther give me a call when you get a chance. [number]. Thank you"

What to Expect

Speed to first contact is a meaningful differentiator for purchased leads. Because third-party prospects enter with low trust, completing same-day outreach establishes immediate momentum.

Document Flag: Specific percentage benchmarks (e.g., Booking/Reply rate tables) are not documented in the PDF for third-party leads.

After the Sequence

  • Meeting Booked: Sequence stops automatically when the contact books via the scheduling link. Advance the deal stage to "Discovery Meeting Booked" and transition the contact to the Prospect Follow-Up Sequence (Module 1).
  • No Response After Day 14: Advance the deal stage to "Not Yet Ready" and enroll the contact in the 180-Day Not Yet Ready Nurture.
  • Contact Asked to Stop: Update the deal stage to Closed Lost and check Do Not Contact on the contact record.

How to Measure

When a meeting is booked, regardless of how it occurs, you must advance the deal stage to "Discovery Meeting Booked". This stage serves as the required tracking metric across all lead opportunities.
